So you want to learn to scrapbook .... Putting a Layout Together

Here we go guys, by now you should know what size layout you want to create, as per the first tutorial HERE, so we are ready to put our first layout together :D

Soooo Exciting you will be hooked i know it :D

BEFORE YOU STICK ANYTHING DOWN LAY YOUR LAYERS DOWN SO YOU CAN MOVE THEM AROUND AND MAKE SURE YOU ARE HAPPY BEFORE STICKING, I HAVE ALREADY DONE THAT BEFORE I TOOK THE PHOTO'S

Ok here we go i am creating a 12 x 12 layout, so i start with my base color 1 12 x 12 sheet of card.

Ok next I want to add a patterned paper, you can split the page and add more than one, but in this instance i want a solid colour on mine, I am using the Southern Comfort page kit from Dragons Lair Designs.

Now although the digital papers are supplied as 12 x 12 i do not have a printer that will print that large, so i printed two sheets and joined them, you can see the line at this point but by the time i have finished you wont notice :D  OK so i now stick my Background paper down, using double sided tape.

Next i wanted a space to Journal, telling people what the photo is about a place to write memories relating to the photo/s etc, I used a sheet of printable Note Paper from Dragons lair Designs and tore it, then inked the edges.

Now I have added some strips of paper from the same kit, which will make the photo pop a little

For reality i added some brads to show the papers been held down, you could use Gems, or any other embellishments you have and like.

Time for the photo, i cut out a frame from the Southern Comfort Page kit and added it to the photo, before sticking it down to the layout.

Last few steps for this layout, i added a smaller strip to the side with a strip of lace to tie in with the vintage feel of the kit, and again held it together with brads.

And here we go one finished Layout, all it needs now is my journal ling ( once i decide what to write lol)

REMEMBER in Scrapbooking there are no rules just sit have fun and let the design flow :D

If you need Insperation have a look for Scrapbook Sketches or layout galleries where you canh grab some idea's or even Scrap Lift one or two ( Scrap lifiting  is where you take someones layout and create with your own twist)
